Junior Leadership Program (Entering 7th–9th Grade)
The Junior Leadership Program is designed for campers who want to grow their leadership skills and learn what it takes to be a helper at BMK Kids Camps. There is no cost to apply or participate.

Who Can Apply
Applicants must have attended at least one BMK camp as a camper (not a helper) in Summer 2024 or Summer 2025. When applying, please list the camps you have attended as a camper.

Why Campers Must Still Attend a Camp for Ages 10+
All participants are required to attend at least one camp marked for ages 10 and up as a camper during Summer 2026. This is intentional. We want our leaders to continue experiencing camp from the camper’s side—so they stay connected to the fun, the community, and the perspective they’ll be supporting as helpers. It also helps grow opportunities for older kids to be exposed to leadership and life skills, whether or not they are part of this program.

Application Requirements
Kids—not parents—must complete the application. Short answers are completely fine. We’re not looking for perfect writing. We want honest thoughts and reflections.
Applicants will be asked to share:

• Why they want to participate
• What strengths they believe will help them succeed as a helper
• A moment they remember from camp when they witnessed leadership—shown by me, a helper, or a fellow camper
(Leadership can look like kindness, respect, helping without being asked, trying again after failing, supporting others, or speaking up even when it’s hard.)

What Participation Looks Like
• Those selected will be able to choose camps for younger kids to attend as a helper.
• Spots are limited to make sure each participant has plenty of opportunities to learn new skills.
• A rolling selection process will run through the end of March 2026.
• Orientation dates will be offered in April and May.
• If selected, you will receive a sign-up list for available helper camps.
• If you are not selected, I will personally let you know why.

Additional Details
• Younger-kid camps will remain half-day; more single-day camps for older kids will be offered this summer.
• If you want to attend helper days with a friend, note that in your application or camp selection. I will do my best to accommodate.
