What to expect when you arrive:
Whether this is your first time here or you’ve been coming for years, the goal is simple: this place should feel comfortable from the moment you arrive.
I’ll meet you when you arrive. If time with the animals is part of your visit, I’ll introduce you to the goats, answer questions, and help get them to their playground. I’ll also show you around inside Becky’s Mindful Kitchen so you know where things are — bathrooms, water, coffee, tea, and any treats included with your booking.
Then I’ll walk you out to the timber and leave you to enjoy the space.
This is your time together. You’ll have the place to yourselves, and I’m always available by phone or text if you need anything.

Access to Becky’s Mindful Kitchen (BMK)
Use of the indoor space for bathrooms, water, and non-alcoholic drinks. Coffee, tea, and cocoa are available upon request.Outside food and drinks welcome

A fire will be made for you if weather allows. If you prefer to build it yourselves, everything will be laid out and ready.The promise that you and your guests will feel not only welcomed, but wanted here. This is a place to slow down. A place where common sense governs. Where people are believed in and trusted to do the right thing, and treat others and the places they go, with kindness and respect.

How Timber Escape pricing and booking works:
Life is busy and full of decisions, so I have removed all unnecessary complications from the Timber Escapes. All you have to decide is how many people and how long you want your event to be. (There are some optional add-ons in the following section to allow for customization. )
Timber Escapes are priced based on time and people.
Base booking
2.5 hours

Additional guests
If you’d like to include more people beyond the original group:
$40 per additional person
If you have added snacks or gelato to your visit, you must give the RSVP number of people 2 weeks prior to the event otherwise extra food/gelato is not guaranteed.
Groups larger than 20 must be approved by Becky.

You may choose to add time after your initial booking but availability is not guaranteed.

Events can be booked from 9am-10pm, Monday-Sunday.

Farm Visit (Single Family)
30 minutes
One family
$50
This option is intended for a single household. Time in timber is not included.
Additional guests (grandparents, cousins, etc)
$15 per additional person
Maximum of 10 people total
For larger groups, longer visits, or gatherings that include time beyond the goat area, a Timber Escape is your best bet!

Archery instruction
20-minute guided session
$50 per groupMake your own wood fired pizza
Pizzas are assembled inside BMK and then comes the fun of carrying it down the path on the pizza peel and handing it off to our master pizza oven operator (my husband Bill). This requires both of us which means it may not be an option for your event date. The oven requires 4 hours of prep before the event, and the dough is made fresh for each event from a traditional Neapolitan recipe. This works best for events longer than 2 hours. For 2hr events, time with animals will be done differently to work around pizza.
Price: $400 for group of 12.
$30/additional person
Each person will have enough dough for a 12in pizza however exact size will vary as humans, not machines are rolling out the dough.
Variety of toppings are available for people to customize their pizza- you can request toppings, and I will do my best to accommodate.
Included: Water/drinks will be provided in the timber. If needed, boxes/packaging for leftover pizza will be brought out and pizzas can be stored in BMK depending on length of event.

Cancellation & Weather Policy
Timber Escapes
Reserved Time
Timber Escapes reserve exclusive use of Becky’s Mindful Kitchen and the timber for your group. Because that time cannot be rebooked, the length of time reserved cannot be reduced once booked.
Leaving early does not change the booking fee.
Group Size & Attendance
When booking a Timber Escape, the number of guests provided at the time of booking is used for planning, preparation, and staffing.
The host is responsible for the guest count shared at booking.
Reductions in attendance do not qualify for refunds or price adjustments.
Additional guests beyond the number booked must be approved in advance and may incur an additional fee.
This policy applies regardless of last-minute changes, no-shows, or individual cancellations within the group.
Cancelation Fee
More than 14 days before your scheduled visit
Cancellations are eligible for a 50% refund.14 days or fewer before the visit
Cancellations are non-refundable.
This policy applies regardless of attendance changes or personal scheduling conflicts. (see rescheduling for additional information)
Weather
Timber Escapes are outdoor experiences and are generally held rain or shine, cloudy or sunny.
Outdoor elements such as animal time, fire pit use, and timber activities are weather-dependent and may be adjusted based on conditions.
In the event of severe or unsafe weather (such as lightning, high winds, or conditions that make the property unsafe), you will be contacted directly to discuss options. Weather-related decisions are made at our discretion with safety as the priority.
Weekend Timber Escapes are not eligible for weather-related refunds.
If you are unable to reschedule for a BMK initiated weather cancelation, a refund minus $200 administrative fee
Rescheduling
Rescheduling requests for non-weather-related reasons may be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to availability. Rescheduling is not guaranteed.
DIRECTIONS AND PARKING
Becky’s Mindful Kitchen is located at 4139 Crosheck Rd NE, Solon, IA
You will turn right onto Crosheck which is 1 mile after turning onto Anchorage Rd. Then take your FIRST left at the big red barn and go down the drive to the white house.
The house at the top of the hill is our awesome neighbor and I ask that you do not block their driveway or park in the apron. The play structure is also on their property and is off limits and please do not walk on their lawn.
Zero parking allowed on the street.
There is a sign that says 'Drop Here and circle drive' what that means is if you need to drop off a kiddo- that’s your spot! If you want to park or plan on staying for an event, circle around and pull up to the "Park Here" sign facing up the drive on the righthand side.
Do not park in front of the house at bottom of drive UNLESS your group consists of no more than 4 cars.
There is room for two cars to pass each other on the driveway. The entrance to BMK around the back of the home. Follow the path past the goat cottage to the back deck.
