Indoor Private Classes and Events

A place to gather, create, and connect.

The farm-style teaching kitchen at Becky’s Mindful Kitchen is designed to feel like home—just without the prep or the cleanup.

From cooking and baking to jewelry making, candles, soaps, art, and more, there’s something that fits every group.

Whatever you choose to do for your event, the time is about being together, talking, and enjoying a few good laughs along the way.

What does it cost?

I know that’s usually the first question- and I’m not here to waste your time by making you scroll to find your answer. Private indoor experiences at Becky’s Mindful Kitchen start at $500 for groups of 1-3 people. For larger groups (6+) the per person price is $130.

What to Expect

Each class, event, and celebration at BMK is customized. Nothing here is cookie-cutter, because no two groups are the same. If you know exactly what you want from your time here, great. If not, that is fine too. Becky will work with you to create something that fits your group. Plan on around 2.5 hours for your class/event. I am a big fan of allowing for life to happen which means building in time for someone to arrive late, or things to take a bit longer. If your event needs to end at a specific time, I promise to make sure to respect that and time things accordingly.

What stays the same is the feel. Nothing is rushed or overly structured. Your only job is to show up and have fun.

Included With Every Indoor Experience

Beverages
A variety of water, soda, coffee, and tea are included.

Time to Explore (if time allows)
You are welcome to explore the timber, visit the treehouse, or say hi to the goats and chickens.

Use of the BMK Workshop Room
The workshop room is available for your group during the experience. This space is used for presentations during team building or leadership retreats, but instead of a conference room, it feels more like a comfortable coffee shop.

The room works well for sitting down to eat what you created, gathering for conversation, playing games, opening gifts, or using the space in whatever way makes sense for your event.

Team-Building & Work Gatherings

Some work groups come to Becky’s Mindful Kitchen simply to step out of the office and spend time together in a more human way. These hands-on, relaxed gatherings are a great fit for teams looking to connect, celebrate, or reset without the formality of a traditional meeting or happy hour.

For organizations looking for something deeper and more intentional, Becky also leads facilitated team-building, leadership development, and retreats through Stoic Edge Consulting. This work is grounded in her SAFE leadership framework and STOA method, the same philosophy explored in her book Choose the Handle That Holds, and is designed for teams who want more than a one-off experience.

If you’re unsure whether your group is looking for a relaxed gathering or a more structured leadership experience, reach out. Becky is happy to help you determine which option best fits your goals and how to make the most of your time together. More info can also be found at beckyschmooke.com

  • Private events at Becky’s Mindful Kitchen are booked by group size, with a non-refundable minimum booking amount required to secure your date. That minimum covers a base number of guests depending on the group size you select.

Private events are booked and paid for by a single host.
How costs are shared among guests is entirely up to you.

Two weeks before your event, your final guest count is confirmed. If your group is larger than the number included in your minimum booking, additional guests may be added at the per-person rate. If more people want to join after the 2 week final count, just reach out and if it works to add them they can absolutely join. Any approved additions must be paid in full at the time they are confirmed.

If a guests cancels after the final count, you may have someone else take their place (make sure they fill out waiver), but there is no reimbursement for that spot.

This approach keeps booking simple, avoids confusion, and allows your event to grow naturally as plans come together.

  • I am happy to accommodate common dietary needs whenever possible, with advance notice.

All food allergies and dietary restrictions must be communicated prior to the event. For private events, it is the responsibility of the event organizer to collect this information from guests and share it with Becky ahead of time.

Some accommodations may require ingredient substitutions or advance planning. In certain cases, guests may be asked to bring a specific ingredient if needed.

  • Cancellations & Rescheduling

    The booking retainer is non-refundable.

Events may be rescheduled up to 14 days prior to the event date, subject to availability. Cancellations within 14 days of the event are non-refundable, but I will always do my best to figure out a solution as I truly believe in treating others as I would like to be treated.

    Weather (Outdoor Events)

Outdoor events are weather-dependent. If conditions are unsafe or unsuitable, I will work with you to reschedule or move the event indoors when possible. The retainer is nonrefundable as it secures your date and prevents any other event to be scheduled.

Light rain, heat, or cold alone do not automatically result in cancellation. Becky’s Mindful Kitchen reserves the right to make final weather-related decisions in the interest of safety and the overall experience.

  • This depends on what all you are wanting from the event. More than 35 people is not recommended for cooking classes.

DIRECTIONS AND PARKING

Becky’s Mindful Kitchen is located at 4139 Crosheck Rd NE, Solon, IA

You will turn right onto Crosheck which is 1 mile after turning onto Anchorage Rd. Then take your FIRST left at the big red barn and go down the drive to the white house.

The house at the top of the hill is our awesome neighbor and I ask that you do not block their driveway or park in the apron.  The play structure is also on their property and is off limits and please do not walk on their lawn.

Zero parking allowed on the street.

There is a sign that says 'Drop Here and circle drive' what that means is if you need to drop off a kiddo- that’s your spot! If you want to park or plan on staying for an event, circle around and pull up to the "Park Here" sign facing up the drive on the righthand side.

Do not park in front of the house at bottom of drive UNLESS your group consists of no more than 4 cars.

There is room for two cars to pass each other on the driveway.  The entrance to BMK around the back of the home.  Follow the path past the goat cottage to the back deck.
